WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL WEBSITE - DESIGNED AND MAINTAINED BY THE SCHOOL WEB CLUB!!!

The School Day and After School Clubs

The School Day officially starts at 8.50am although the school doors open at 8.40am.  KS1 parents accompany their children to the classroom and by Y2, children will be responsible for changing out of their outdoor clothes and putting their belongings away.  Younger children can read with their parents until school starts.  KS2 children tend  to take themselves to their classrooms.

School finishes at 3.15 and parents wait for their children in front of the school office by the staff carpark.  Please familiarise yourself with the guidance on parking in Earls Lane contained in the Policies section.

EARLY YEARS UNIT

Swimming

Deddington now uses the facility at Bloxham School for swimming, and each KS2 Year Group has an allocation of weeks when it is their turn to go swimming, currently on Thursday afternoons.

The price per session is £2 and swimming caps must be worn.  In addition, boys must wear tight swimming trunks rather than baggy shorts.

Healthy Eating Snack Stall and Healthy Dinners

At first break, there is a Healthy Snack Stall run by Year 6.  Amongst other items, it sells Fruit, drinks, flapjacks, raisins and yoghurt raisins.  The stall operates on a voucher basis - children can buy vouchers costing 25 pence each and then exchange them for snacks. The stall collects money the week before and the students can't give money to them there and then!

The school lunches are now even healthier, and due to popular demand, there are now two roasts on offer each week.  The menu operates on a rolling fortnight basis and will change on a seasonal basis.  Julie,  our wonderful cook, tries to use local, fresh and seasonal produce as much as possible.  We are all very aware that we have to eat healthy to stay healthy and all year groups will have covered the benefits of diet with their teachers.

Examples of menus can be viewed at the bottom of this page.
