School will:
Ensure learning is fun and varied
Encourage the children to focus on their learning in order for them to realise their potential.
Set targets for achievement and celebrate success towards goals.
Expect children to treat all members of the school community with respect and model the behaviours we wish to see .
Inform parents of children’s progress.
Let parents know about any concerns that affect children’s work or behaviour as soon as concerns arise.
Set homework and encourage other opportunities for learning at home.
Keep parents informed about school activities through regular newsletters and notices.
Provide an up-to-date school brochure summarizing or providing references to current school policies.
Provide a safe, caring and positive lunchtime experience for all children willing to abide by our school rules.
Create opportunities for all children to feel success, academic or otherwise
Parents and carers will:
See that children come to school each day, on time and properly equipped, informing the school of any illness and only requesting permission for holiday absence (where unavoidable) well in advance.
Let the school know of concerns or problems that might affect children’s work or behaviour.
Support the school’s policy for conduct and behaviour.
Support children in homework and other opportunities for home learning.
Make every effort to attend parents’ evenings and discussions about children’s progress.
Support children in working towards their targets, recognising and giving praise for progress towards the achievement of their goals.
Be familiar with the school brochure and know where to go for information relating to school policies and procedures.
Ensure that children are aware of their responsibilities towards others and the need for safe behaviour during the school lunch time period.
Make themselves fully aware of dates and information by accessing the school newsletters
The child will:
Respect all adults and members of our school community, their feelings and their property.
Try their hardest in all things.
Follow the school’s rules.
Do their homework.
Ensure that their behaviour never compromises the safety and learning of others
In addition to the above the school will collect and retain such data on pupils as is necessary to carry out its functions. From time to time, children’s photographs may appear in the local press or on the school website, but the family name will not be noted without permission.
Parents, carers and children are invited to sign this agreement.
