Earls Lane Road Safety

Facilities exist, through our lollipop lady, for the safe crossing of the road; her crossing is outside the school in Earls Lane.

The other crossing on the main road at the traffic lights is now a Pelican crossing. Parents are asked to co-operate by ensuring that the children cross the road only where there is a lollipop lady, or at the Pelican crossing. In the case of any out of school activities, teachers try to ensure that arrangements are made for children to get home afterwards, and they check that those who are walking home cross the road safely.

BECAUSE OF THE NARROWNESS OF EARLS LANE, PARENTS ARE ASKED TO COMPLY WITH THE STATUTORY PARKING REGULATIONS (YELLOW LINES). PARK IN THE CAR PARK OR WELL AWAY FROM THE SCHOOL ENTRANCE, AND NEVER IN THE LAY-BY, AS THIS IS USED BY THE SCHOOL BUS AND AS ACCESS FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES. THE POLICE AND TRAFFIC WARDENS MAKE REGULAR VISITS.
