Collective Worship
As a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School we hold daily assemblies. The weekly pattern includes whole-school assemblies and assemblies in class and Key Stage groups. The local clergy join us in the school on a regular basis to take part in and sometimes lead, our assemblies. We, in turn, visit the local Church both as a rich resource for learning and to take part in special services initiated by ourselves or the Church.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from all or part of R.E. and acts of worship. Children withdrawn will be expected to complete other work during these sessions.
“Worship is a special part of the school day. Every effort is made to make this time meaningful and relevant to school life and current issues.”
“As they progress through the school, pupils add to their knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other world faiths. They are given opportunities to reflect on beliefs and values.”
